Grigsby, Antolin limited by injuries

BY SARAH TROTTO, ARIZONA DAILY STAR

The Arizona Wildcats' injury woes to the running back position just got worse.

Junior Nicolas Grigsby returned to the field after a two-game absence but re-injured the shoulder Saturday night in the Cats' 44-41 double-overtime loss to No. 11 Oregon at Arizona Stadium.

Grigsby finished with 24 yards on four carries with his longest run 16 yards.

Sophomore Keola Antolin also did not play after halftime after suffering a stinger. He had 46 yards on three carries. His longest dash was 41 yards.

"Nick and Keola are kind of our big-play guys right now," Arizona offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes said. "(Greg) Nwoko and (Nick) Booth are a little different types of runners. We're missing a little pop at that position."

Oregon cheerleader injured by water bottle

An Oregon cheerleader was carted off the field and taken to a hospital after being hit in the head by a water bottle at the end of the game.

Oregon officials identified the cheerleader as Katelynn Johnson, a senior. There was no immediate word on her condition or whether she had lost consciousness.

Oregon athletic director Mike Bellotti told The Associated Press that Johnson had been struck with a full water bottle.

Witnesses said Johnson was hit near the entrance to the Oregon locker room in the southwest corner of Arizona Stadium.

Oregon running back LaMichael James said Arizona fans "were throwing stuff before the game" as well.

"That's just unacceptable behavior from fans, whether it was an Arizona fan or any fan across the nation," UO quarterback Jeremiah Masoli said of the post-game bottle throwing.

Oregon coach praises Wildcats QB Foles

"Arizona is a good football team," Oregon coach Chip Kelly said of the Cats rally. "They made plays.

"Nick Foles is an outstanding quarterback."

Making his mark

James broke the Pac-10 record for a freshman on his 14-yard run midway through the final quarter. He finished with 117yards on 19 carries to eclipse 100 yards in six consecutive games.

James' record stands at 1,310 yards. He entered the game needing 60 yards to match the conference record — Oregon State's Jacquizz Rodgers owned the former mark of 1,253 yards.

"My coaches have faith in me, and I have faith in my offensive line," James said.

Extra points

• Arizona entered the game averaging 48.5 penalty yards per game, best in the Pac-10. In the first half, they had 45 penalty yards. They finished with just 50 penalty yards.

• The Cats' David Douglas lost a fumble in the end zone with 1:11 left in the first quarter and Oregon leading 7-0.

• Oregon linebacker Eddie Pleasant registered two sacks before halftime. The Ducks finished with three sacks for 19 yards.

• Arizona linebacker Xavier Kelley made two crucial defensive plays in the final quarter after Arizona went up 31-24. He tipped a Masoli pass on third down and made a tackle when Masoli threw a pass on fourth-and-four.
