Santa Rita football appeals 7 forfeits this season

The Santa Rita High School football team must forfeit seven of its games this season.
The Eagles self reported a violation to the Arizona Interscholastic Association saying they used an ineligible player for their games from Aug. 28 through Oct. 23.
Santa Rita has an 8-1 record and is the second-ranked team in class 4A-II. It will appeal the AIA ruling this Friday at a hearing in Phoenix.
AIA officials say the team had a player who falsified documentation involving the domicile rule.
